National Meditation Specialist Certification Board

Vickie Addison, RN, MSI - BC

Certification Date:
05/01/2009
Status:
Active

Vickie Addison is a registered nurse who has 30 years of experience in nursing with 20 years of experience in critical care nursing.

Realizing that modern medicine focuses on illness care, rather than illness prevention, and often prescribes medications to reduce the symptoms of a disease, without correcting the underlying cause (STRESS) Vickie wanted to re-educate her patients, change their focus from illness to wellness, and teach them how to promote wellness in their bodies and minimize the effects of stress.

As a result of growing up with many stressful and tragic events in her own life, Vickie had developed her own relaxation and meditative techniques early in life. She knew these were helpful in reducing her own stress, and knew if others could do the same, they may also feel less stressed, healthier, and be able to cope with life better.  The only problem was, she didn't know how to explain or teach what she does.

Then she began to study meditation, learned how to teach a systematic approach to the practice, and began to incorporate it into her work as a nurse. Vickie now uses an integrative approach in teaching health care, through diet, exercise, and stress reduction through meditation practices. She teaches in the hospital setting as well as to the community.

Vickie offers private instruction in meditation as well as group instruction, and will design a program to meet your personal needs.
